We know the name of Google’s first foldable smartphone (and it’s amazing)


google takes its time to release its first foldable smartphone on the market. Things are moving forward, however, as the latest information retrieved by the 9to5Google site seems to attest. So, the first foldable Pixel would not be called Pixel Fold (despite the clues going in this direction) but rather… Pixel Notepad! Is this a way to make the distinction with Samsung’s Galaxy Fold? May be…

The other distinction would be at the level of the tariff. And there it is rather a very good surprise since the source of our colleague affirms that the Pixel Notepad will be marketed at a lower price than that of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The latter being invoiced 1799 euros in France, Google could therefore aim for 1500 euros, which would remain expensive in absolute terms but certainly less divisive than the 2000 euros (or approaching) of almost all current foldable smartphones. After all, there are many smartphones at 1500 euros (follow my gaze at the apple-shaped logo…).

Finally, and to close this beautiful list of leaks / rumors, the Pixel Notepad would be marketed initially in the United States, which will undoubtedly allow Google to test the waters before deciding whether or not to extend production to D other territories…
