This year, they are eleven Habs to tread the NBA floors, with more or less success. Overview of the forces involved.

In the absence of Tony Parker, retired from basketball, several French people have taken over across the Atlantic. This season, eleven Habs are present in the NBA but not all have the same status or the same success. Rudy Gobert is currently the best representative. The Jazz pivot began his ninth season in the North American league. Triple winner of the best defender trophy, Donovan Mitchell’s teammate is in the oven and in the mill for his team. With his frankness, he must now reach the milestone of a Conference final. Still in the West, Nicolas Batum found colors with the Los Angeles Clippers after a delicate passage to the Hornets between 2018 and 2020. With 914 career NBA games, number 33 is an experienced soldier, even if his playing time is irregular. Third most famous player of the French contingent: Evan Fournier. The guard signed with the Knicks at the start of the season. Scorer with an assertive and jovial personality, the Francilien aligns the good and the less good performances and his team is struggling to take off in the standings.

Young shoots to shape

Of the other French present in the NBA, Théo Maledon is the one who is doing the best. The young point guard had a great first season with the Thunder. This year, he must confirm his potential but is doing some freelancing in the G-League to gain playing time. In his wake, Killian Hayes, the highest drafted Frenchman in history (7th place), continues his progression among the Pistons even if it is still too irregular. Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot and Franck Ntilikina have the same trajectory. Last year, the two men offered themselves a few ends of the match and could have seen their adventure in the NBA stop, but the first signed with the Hawks and the second with the Mavericks to revive. Regarding Yves Pons, Killian Tillie, Petr Cornelie and Joël Ayayi, the first three have little room to express themselves, unlike the last, who is in a real stalemate with the Wizards.
