Respawn Entertainment is currently concocting three new Star Wars games, announce its parent company Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games. There will be a sequel for Jedi Fallen Order, an FPS and a strategy game.
Three Star Wars games in the works at Respawn
Game director Stig Amussen, who previously oversaw the development of god of war 3 for Sony and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order at Respawn, working on Respawn’s next Star Wars Jedi game.
A brand new, as yet untitled, first-person shooter based on Star Wars is overseen by game director Peter Hirschmann, who notably directed the games Star Wars: Battlefront and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Peter Hirschmann and Respawn have just started working on the title.
The third title is a strategy game co-developed by Bit Reactor, a studio recently formed by former developers from XCOM. Gaming industry veteran Greg Foerstch, art director of XCOM 2 and XCOM: Enemy Unknown, runs this studio.
Vince Zampella, founder of Respawn, will oversee this new phase of the relationship between Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games. Release dates and platforms for Respawn’s new Star Wars games are undisclosed at this time.
As a reminder, Electronic Arts is not the only one to manage the Star Wars license in video games. Ubisoft is also preparing a title with its studio Massive Entertainment. There is also star wars eclipse which was unveiled in December and is managed by Quantic Dream.
