PS5: PS3 games are appearing, backward compatibility approaching?

Will we soon be able to play PS3 games on PS5 thanks to backward compatibility? This is the question that arises after the appearance of a few games at the PlayStation Store.

Soon the backward compatibility of PS3 games on PS5?

Until now, PS3 games available on the PlayStation Store redirected players to Sony’s service, PlayStation Now. But this weekend, players were able to see PS3 games on the store with pricing, giving credence to unconfirmed rumors that Sony is preparing a backwards compatibility service to rival Microsoft’s.

Naturally, it is possible to think that this is a simple display bug and that the titles should not have appeared on Sony’s new console. However, some people note that a few PS3 games displayed on PS5 are not available with PlayStation Now.

This is an opportunity to remember that Sony is preparing Spartacus, which must be more or less an equivalent to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass. There would be three formulas, with the third which would allow you to play PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP games, in addition to accessing several PS4 and PS5 games, and having the advantages of PlayStation Plus.

As you can imagine, Sony does not communicate, whether on Spartacus or this appearance of PS3 games on the PlayStation Store from a PS5.
