Two days after raising their heads against Utah, beaten again on Wednesday, the Lakers relapsed, at home against Indiana on a night that saw Joel Embiid (50 points), Nikola Jokic (49) and Luka Doncic (41 ) flirt with the stars. After four straight losses, Chicago regained the taste of victory, against Cleveland, which remained on five victories.
The thinning over Los Angeles will not have been only temporary. After three losses in a row again, the Lakers had managed to raise their heads on Monday by taking over a Utah team far from being in top form (on Wednesday, the Jazz recorded at home against Houston despite 23 points from Rudy Gobert his sixth loss in the last seven games). A reaction that actually preceded a relapse of Californians, surprised Wednesday on their floor by Indiana (111-104) and a Domantas Sabonis who never ceases to align the triple-double (20 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists). Another hero of this game, Caris LeVert, author of 22 points of his 30 points of the evening in the last quarter, was right in the money time of LeBron James (30 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists) and his teammates, who again show an unbalanced balance sheet (22 wins – 23 losses). With 30 points scored for nothing, the “King” could have thought of enthroning himself among the best scorers of the evening. He was far from the accounts. This night indeed gave rise to a shower of cards from the stars of the league, who had obviously decided to panic the counters on Wednesday.

End of series for Cleveland, Chicago finds a smile
The 30 points (and 7 assists) of Kyrie Irving to put Brooklyn back on track, at the finish in Washington (119-118) like the 33 points of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Ja Morant during the highly anticipated duel between Milwaukee and Memphis won by the Bucks (126-114) in Wisconsin or the 37 points of Trae Young, once again the great architect of Atlanta’s second straight victory, against Minnesota (134-122), will thus remain almost anecdotal only compared to those of the three MVPs of the evening Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic.

The first, who has become the third player in Philadelphia history to sign several 50-point games, made one of the best copies of his life (and this in just 27 minutes of play) to revive the Wizards. Particularly prominent during overtime between Denver and Nicolas Batum’s Clippers, left to rest after his incredible MLK Day game, Jokic released his people, with a pretty crazy triple-double (49 points, 14 rebounds, 10 passes). Exceptional performances that inspired Doncic.

The Slovenian offered his biggest total of the season as well as the winning basket, one minute from the buzzer. Dallas, winner in the pain of Toronto (102-98), took the opportunity to align a fourth success. Cleveland was hoping for a fifth straight when moving to Chicago, at worst. DeMar DeRozan’s 30 points, however, allowed the Bulls to stop the Cavs and return to winning ways after four straight losses.
