Molotov: access to TF1 channels now requires a subscription

You will now have to pay if you want to see the channels of the TF1 group with Molotov. The app to view TV channels announces the decision to its users today.

Paid access to watch TF1 on Molotov

“Given the conditions set by the TF1 Group to maintain free access to its content on its platform, Molotov is now forced to distribute the free-to-air channels of the TF1 Group in its paid offers”, indicates the service. This concerns TF1, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films and LCI. The agreement also covers replays and bonuses from these channels (this will be available soon).

There are several paid offers at Molotov, with each giving access to certain channels. It will now be necessary to subscribe to one of them to have access to TF1 channels. In addition, the TV Breizh, Ushuaïa TV and Histoire TV channels (which belong to TF1) are no longer available, even with paid offers.

“Molotov regrets this situation, and reaffirms its commitment to free DTT channels for all. It is also important to note that all the other DTT channels are accessible free of charge on Molotov, apart from those of the TF1 and M6 groups.reminds the service.

As a reminder, the Paris court sentenced Molotov last month to pay 8.5 million euros to the TF1 group for infringement. The service broadcast the channels without a specific agreement. In December, Molotov had already been ordered to pay more than 7 million euros to M6 in a similar case.
