New eco-bonus for motorcycles and scooters at the start. Starting at 10 tomorrow, January 13, 2022, the platform will be reopened on the ecobonus.mise.gov.it website through which dealers can activate incentives for customers to purchase hybrid or electric mopeds and motorcycles.
This was announced in a note by the Ministry of Economic Development. For the incentive it was introduced by the budget law 2021 an overall allocation of 150 million euros, equal to 20 million for each year from 2021 to 2023 and 30 million for each of the years from 2024 to 2026.
The contribution, aimed at those who purchase a new electric or hybrid vehicle from the categories L1e, L2e, L3e, L4e, L5e, L6e, L7e, will be calculated on the percentage of the purchase price: 30% for purchases without scrapping up to a maximum of three thousand euros and 40% for purchases with scrapping of an old moped (from Euro 0 to Euro 3) up to a maximum of four thousand euros. The discount is applied directly when purchasing electric or hybrid mopeds and motorcycles, with two, three or four wheels, without power limits. The vehicle can also be acquired on a leasing basis.
Attention, it will not be a click day and it will not be necessary to rush in the first few days. The procedure, in fact, foresees two distinct moments: the first phase of opening the counter which starts tomorrow will be dedicated exclusively to the registration of the dealers, who will be able to register and upload their identification data. Only later, after specific communication, will the second phase open and you can place the order and book the incentive. After booking, you will then have up to 180 days for the delivery of the vehicle.
How to get the Ecobonus for motorcycles and scooters
The buyer doesn’t have to do anything. The discount is activated by resellers who, after registering on the Mise platform, can book contributions according to the availability of resources and receive a booking registration receipt. To ensure correct and transparent booking procedures, a resource counter will be present on the platform to monitor the financial availability of the bonus in real time.
In detail, the process consists of 4 phases:
Phase 1 – Booking of contributions
- register in advance in the Resellers Area;
- book the contributions relating to each individual vehicle, obtaining, according to the availability of resources, a booking registration receipt;
- confirm the operation within 180 days of booking, communicating the license plate number of the new vehicle delivered and attaching the required documentation.
Phase 2 – Payment of contributions
The contribution is paid by the seller to the buyer by offsetting the purchase price.
Step 3 – Reimbursement of contributions to the seller
The manufacturers or importers of the new vehicle reimburse the seller the amount of the contribution.
Phase 4 – Recovery of the amount of the contribution
The manufacturers or importers of the new vehicle receive the necessary documentation from the seller and then recover the amount of the contribution in the form of a tax credit.
