Big blow for the Sixers

Philadelphia Sixers guard Danny Green has ruptured two ligaments in his knee. A serious injury that could well compromise the rest of his career.

Big blow for Danny Green but also for his current franchise, namely the Philadelphia Sixers, all just eliminated from the NBA play-offs. Indeed, the back has seriously injured his left knee. And if optimism was de rigueur, at the very beginning, finally, the diagnosis has therefore been made and he is thus particularly heavy since he is suffering, neither more nor less, than from a double ligament rupture, and more precisely at the level of the anterior cruciate ligament and the fibular collateral ligament. An injury that occurred following a shock, in the middle of a match, with one of his own teammates, namely Joel Embiid. During Game 6 of the conference semi-finals, played against the Miami Heat, the Cameroonian had simply fallen on him.

What about Green’s career?

The pain then seemed particularly strong, on the spot, and Danny Green had even had to be carried to the locker room, to then not be able to come back into play. This very serious injury could thus also seriously compromise the rest of Danny’s career. Green, now 34 years old (he will be 35 next June), insofar as very long months of rehabilitation now seem to be waiting for him. Still, it would be highly unlikely to see the back play a single minute during the next season. Danny Green, who should have received around $ 10 million in salary next year, could well be cut free of charge by his Philadelphia Sixers franchise before July 1.
